On the southern sandstone escarpments of Freshwater Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this house opens to both the northern views up the coast and the southern cliffs at the rear of the site. On a dramatically steep block, the building solved the difficult access issue with a basement garage and lift to three levels. The house features recycled brickwork, off form concrete, Spotted Gum windows and doors and an undulating timber lined ceiling. A central void with a skylight over invites daylight deep into the building.
