The proposed Rozelle Bay Marine Centre and dry boat store will accommodate storage of power boats, boat showrooms, service areas, a restaurant, café, and marine related retail and office areas. Richard Cole Architecture has been working in association with Micheal Fountain Architects, primarily on the design of the commercial building. The elongated two storey concrete and steel structure extends between the central public plaza and the waterside promenade. The building incorporates a dramatic central atrium that is the focal point of the development. Extensive use of large cantilevers, glazed sectional overhead doors and steel mesh give the building a poised transparency. The building attempts to capture some of the speed and excitement of the vessels it will display.
